Hydroponics

Today we went around (we being my child development class) to a bunch of organizations in Yonkers. This picture was taken at "The Science Barge" which is a really neat, totally self contained (except I don't believe that), gardern. The vine plants hang on these poles near the ceiling of the greenhouse, and just hang. The melons look particularly silly, just hangin' there.

These are tomatoes.

  1. Hanging tomatoes is a fairly common way of growing them in small spaces. I considered doing it myself by I had no where to hang them in enough sun.

  2. self-contained probably doesn't include water and definitely wouldn't include sun. But I imagine they compost.

tomato lynching, no trial, no jury. not as bad as execution by drone.
